Dear Parents and Carers,
Another month has passed us by in a flash, and we are entering a wonderful but very busy period for us in school!
Thank you to everyone that attended Parent Consultation Day on Monday 18th. It was great to see so many of you. The parent and carer survey had a great response, and I will be sharing the findings with you in the coming weeks. There were some excellent feedback points too, which we will be working on and giving you some more information about in the coming weeks. So do please look out for letters about these items, which include communication, homework, and celebrating each other!
Please remember that you are able to find out what is going on in school and what your children are learning by looking at our website. This is updated by our teams with weekly news posts and termly curriculum-related information.
As we enter December, we like to give children the opportunity to wear their Christmas Jumpers on any day they choose (from Monday 2nd December!).
Thank you all for your kind words, support, and continued dedication to making our school the very best!
My best wishes to you all,
Sara

Music - Black History Month
For Black History Month, children in each year group learned about some of the most influential black musicians of all time. Find out more below and scroll to the bottom of the page to see some footage from every year group showing just what talented pupils we are so lucky to have at Monteagle.
Year 1: The children learned about reggae artist Bob Marley, his hit single "Three Little Birds", and even performed solos!
Year 2: The children explored the legendary Bill Withers and his song "Lean on Me". They also learned it on glockenspiels!
Year 3: Funk superstar James Brown was the focus, with students learning "I Feel Good".
Year 4: The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, and her anthem "Respect" were explored through a performance and discussion.
Year 5: The children studied Lauryn Hill's "Joyful Joyful" from Sister Act 2, and some even sang solos!
Year 6: Chuck Berry, the King of Rock 'n' Roll, and his famous "Johnny B. Goode" were covered, with the students performing the song in a singing assembly.

STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
Last week, the Student Council had an important meeting with our Science Lead, Mr. Hearty. He wanted to hear our thoughts about Science in our school and how it could be improved.
We shared what we enjoy most about science lessons, like exciting experiments and learning about animals, engines, and chemistry. We also talked about what could make science even better, such as more hands-on activities, outdoor investigations, and real-world science applications.
ST ALBANS CHURCH 90TH ANNIVERSARY
Monteagle was invited to be part of St Alban's 90th anniversary celebrations. We were asked to paint a board with "A story or theme from the Bible," which would then be displayed in the church as part of a collective collage with schools from within the parish. The Art Club rose to the occasion and completed their board using the Noah's Ark story.
