What’s Special About Year 3?
- Moving into Key Stage 2 means children begin to take greater responsibility for their learning and independence.
- Lessons will encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving across all subjects.
- We’ll be working on developing confidence in reading, writing, and maths, while also exploring a wide range of topics in science, history, geography, art, and more.
- Outdoor learning, trips, and special events will enrich the classroom experience.
Our Learning Focus
In Year 3, children will:
- Become more fluent readers and confident writers.
- Tackle exciting maths challenges including times tables, fractions, and problem-solving.
- Explore fascinating topics such as Ancient Egypt, rocks and soils, light, and local history.
- Build independence, resilience, and teamwork skills
Working Together
We believe education is a partnership between school and home. Regular reading, practising times tables, and discussing your child’s learning can make a real difference.
If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help every child succeed and to make Year 3 a positive, happy, and successful journey.
We can’t wait to see all the amazing things our Year 3s will achieve this year!
